As most of you have heard, ET and The Insider both made plans to air a never-before-seen video featuring Heath Ledger surrounded by people partaking in drug use. The Insider played a preview of the video, making it seem like Ledger was using drugs, featuring parts when he says "I'm gonna get so much shit from my girlfriend." In the clip, he also says, "I used to smoke five joints a day for 20 years," however, the clip does not show him saying afterwards, "and that's why I got this tattoo [an M, for daughter Matilda] to remind me never to smoke weed again." According to one source who has seen the video, he did not use drugs throughout the entire video. Several celebrities did not support the airing of this material which led ET and The Insider to cancel airing the full video. I couldn't be happier about that. Ledger's death was and still is a great loss to his fans, but felt and experienced most by those closest to him. People tend to forget celebrities are humans foremost and then celebrities. Like anyone else, they deserve to have a peaceful passing and their families deserve peace, quiet and time to grieve without cameramen camping outside their front doors, television stations airing things that don't matter at this point or magazines printing fabricated stories (much like UsWeekly did claiming Michelle attempted to send Heath to rehab. Her publicist has since denied the allegation.)

R.I.P Heath

As most of you know by now, Heath Andrew Ledger died in his NY apartment in the afternoon of January 22, 2008. While his death is ruled as uncertain at this point, foul play and heavy narcotics have been ruled out as causes of death. I first heard of this news from my sister as I was on my way home from a trip. I didn't want to sound crazy and start crying over a celebrity I never met nor ever came close to meeting. Instead I waited until I got home, roughly six hours later to cry in private. Heath was in my top five favorite actors, not solely for his good looks but more importantly for his immense talent. I know people die everyday but we often immortalize celebrities and never think of their passing. Ledger passed away too soon, at the tender age of 28. His future in the business was bright, no, bursting with promise. It's a big loss for the movie industry but worst of all is the loss experienced by Michelle Williams, Matilda (his and Michelle's young daughter) and other family. My mom went through a similar tragedy. Her first husband passed away before she even gave birth to my eldest sister. She raised her alone for 12 years before meeting my father. I only hope Michelle is surrounded by close family and friends during this difficult time. Some may deem it strange for a fan to mourn the loss of someone they didn't know but I've always felt this odd sense of connection to Ledger and his movies. Everyone has one famous person they look up to. He was one of the main ones for me. I've always been a fan, and undoubtedly fond of his gorgeous features. If you recall, upon the separation of Heath and Michelle I joked that he was "all mine" again. I still can't get over it. He was just too young and too talented to die so soon. He will be missed by all his family, friends, and fans alike. I love you Heath, forever!

Because that is so, one may be under the impression I'm superficial because I revolve my blog around celebrity, entertainment...and on occasion, fashion news. Those who do know me, understand I have a great deal of passion for humanity and global issues, being a rebel when it comes to war and fighting for peace. The body of actor Brad Renfo, known for his roles in The Client and Bully, was found dead in his Los Angeles home Tuesday. While the immediate cause of death is uncertain at the moment, many speculate it could be linked to his drug abuse from the past. Renfo was only 25 and a fine actor. Rest In Peace.

Jack leaves Project Runway

Jack Mackenroth, of Project Runway Season 4, dismissed himself from the competition in last night's episode after developing a potentially serious staph infection on his face. HIV-positive for 17 years, Jack felt it was best to leave after being advised by his regular doctor to leave to receive proper treatment. Despite a rumor by New York Daily that said the producers convinced him to leave, Jack remarked he wanted to get well properly on his blog. He has since made a full recovery. Chris March was invited back to the show to fill Jack's spot. You will be missed on the show but we're sure to hear about you in the future as you are incredibly talented =D

Bravo's hit show The Real Housewives of Orange County is back for a third season. In the opener, Vicki (second from left) buys her daughter Briana, an A+ nursing school student, a new Mercedes Benz. Lauri (in white) shares details of her nuptials to millionaire George and shares how everyone is coping since moving her family into his house. Meanwhile Jeana (pink) plans her middle-daughter Kara's graduation party. Tammy (far right) and her daughters, however, face a tragedy. Tammy's ex-husband Lou Knickerbocker recently passed of a massive heart attack. Unfortunately, he left no will behind for his daughters though his "Thai-wife", or "mail-order bride", as his daughters refer to her, will inherit everything. Lindsey, who was living with Lou before his death was kicked out by the "Thai wife" and she is forced to live with older sister Megan. Tammy's water damage on her home has not been fixed yet and in the mean time, the girls live in a studio apartment above the house.

The new wife on the block, Tamra, a realtor and mother of four, also has her drama. Her oldest son, Ryan (21), from a previous marriage brings about tension upon moving back in with her and current husband, Simon, who has issues with Ryan. Tamra remains in between their tension.

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m.

Bee Movie Review

While I have yet to see Bee Movie, the new animated Dreamworks film starring Jerry Seinfeld, who also wrote and produced the film, I have been checking up on reviews before heading to the theater. Regardless of the following, Bee Movie garnered $39.33 million on opening weekend.

Here is an excerpt from the LATimes review:

"Bee Movie" feels as if it was cut from a mold made in the '90s.A coming-of-age story about a kid from a conformist society whose individualism and nonconformity cause problems at first but eventually save the day, "Bee Movie" parrots the I-gotta-be-me standard without thinking it through.Barry Benson (Seinfeld), is a young bee fresh out of college about to forcibly enter the workforce.

While flying over Central Park, Barry is separated from the rest of the squadron and lost. He winds up inside the apartment of Vanessa (Renée Zellweger), a florist, who saves Barry from her meathead boyfriend, Ken (Patrick Warburton), when Ken tries to swat him. Grateful, Barry breaks the cardinal rule of bees and talks to Vanessa. Soon she and Barry become close friends, and Barry returns to the hive full of a newfound appreciation for the human way of life. (Cinnabon is high on his list of marvels.)

The jokes are the best thing about it ("I was already a bloodsucking parasite," says a mosquito turned lawyer, played by Chris Rock. "All I needed was the briefcase.") They're also the worst thing about it. ("I just hope she's bee-ish," sighs Barry's anxious mother, played by Kathy Bates, on learning that her son is interested in someone who may or may not be a wasp. Get it?)

This would be OK if "Bee Movie"-- a pun on B movie that goes no further than the title -- weren't also content to remain in the shallow part of the pool, story-wise. The stakes are low. It's a bee movie about nothing."

The face of Egypt's most famous ancient ruler, King Tutankhamun, has been put on public display for the first time.
Archaeologists took the mummy from its stone sarcophagus and placed it in a climate-controlled case inside his tomb in Luxor's Valley of the Kings.
The event comes 85 years to the day after the pharaoh's tomb was discovered by British explorer Howard Carter.
Until now, only about 50 living people have seen the face of the boy king, who died more than 3,000 years ago.
As experts lifted Tutankhamun from his coffin they briefly set aside the white linen covering his remains, revealing a shrivelled black face and body.

My review of Nip/Tuck!

The fifth season of hit show Nip/Tuck premiered last night on FX. Previously set in Miami, fans returned to see their favorite on-screen doctors Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) settle in their new humble abode, Los Angeles.

Upon opening shop in L.A, Sean and Christian soon learn exactly where they are living now - in the land of pristine faces and bodies who have been nipped and tucked to the maximal level. Their rude awakening forces them to use themselves as bait in nightclubs in their pursuit of clients. It is there where they meet Fiona McNeil (Lauren Hutton), a publicist. "Celebrity is power," she tells Sean and Christian and offers two of her clientele to them. "Carly Summers," the woman after which the season premiere is named, is a middle-aged actress who acknowledges herself as beautiful and in no dire need of surgery. McNeil disagrees and requests the doctors to "refresh her face so we can refresh her career." Being the charming surgeon that is Christian Troy, he woos Summers on a date and she later proceeds to seek his honest opinion of her body. Client one down.

Meanwhile, a producer pays a visit to the offices of McNamara/Troy for reconstructive surgery of his scars caused by his personal dominatrix. Classic Nip/Tuck drama there.

McNeil then introduces the doctors to Freddy Prune (Oliver Platt), the effete flamboyant director and creator of Hearts N' Scalpels, a soft-core blend of Nip/Tuck itself and ER. The over-the-top characters, formulaic dialogue and unrealistic surgeries are a nuisance to McNamara/Troy at first but then intrigue them as they are offered guest spots on the series. After their premiere on Scalpels, Christian, usually the charmer, fades in the background as surgery requests from female fans come pouring in for Sean.

The fourth season was becoming humdrum and director Ryan Murphy made a wise decision in changing the locale and introducing new characters. Undoubtedly, the new setting and show-within-a-show adventures of the Adonis' that are Sean and Christian will lend excitement to returning fans. Catch Nip/Tuck on FX Tuesday nights at 10 p.m.

Target is now selling a special edition pink iPod shuffle with a portion of the proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. There is no word on whether Apple is involved. I bought one for my sister's birthday as a gift and as something for a good cause - our mother is breast cancer survivor. Disney's Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has been making headlines this week after someone posted a mock interview online with Cyrus in which she supposedly said she was expecting a child. The false statement read as follows: "I'm going to take good care of my baby. I've already gained 7 pounds. I was in real shock when it happened accidentally. I went a little too far. I'm sorry to all of my fans." A bit unrealistic, dontchathink? A couple in Boston recently became engaged after the groom-to-be, Aric Egmont, proposed to Jennie Bass in a....CROSSWORD PUZZLE?! The couple claim to be avid crossword puzzle lovers who often complete them together. Being something they love sharing, it was only appropritate for Aric to come up with this idea. He called up the editors of the Boston Globe and requested they do a puzzle which featured the line "Will You Marry Me Jennie?" In the latest issue of the Globe Sunday magazine, the crossword theme was "Popping the question" which featured a variety of proposals such as "Macrame artist's proposal" which was "Let's tie the knot." 35 Across was 16 letters for poker player's proposal "May I have your hand?" while others included Jennie's sisters name and her best friend's name which she originally thought of as just coincidence. Then came 111 across, whose clue read "Generic proposal" (Jen + Aric = generic). The answer was "Will you marry me?" 116 across read "Winston's [Churchill] mother" and the answer was "Jennie." Her answer was a Down clue beginning with the "Y" in "Marry" - YES.

Season Finale

Noggin aired the season finale of South of Nowhere. This season of Nowere picked up from the aftermath of the shooting which occured last season. Season 3 featured heavy drama, showcasing Chelsea's struggle alone with her pregnancy after losing Clay as well as losing the baby. Aiden, who was also shot but survived, began experiencing constant nightmares of the night of the shooting. Spencer and Ashley split in the beginning of season 3 for their relationship became too complicated. Spencer sought comfort in new-girl Carmen but soon distanced herself after Carmen became abusive. Spencer's relationship with her mother also suffered as she learned that her mother had still not accepted her homosexuality or her relationship with Ashley. Madison and Aiden reunited, not as a couple again, but as friends with extra benefits or "crime fighters" as they liked to refer to their intercourse sessions. By the end of the season, Madison left and ended her "sessions" with Aiden, Chelsea became part of the group again, and Glen became Ashley and Kyla's security guard. Ashley managed to mend broken relationships with both Spencer's mother and Spencer herself. She convinced Spencer's mother to attend the Gay Pride event taking place and also reunited with Spencer herself. Looking forward to Season 4!

I was on the radio/Chris Crocker!

Chris Crocker, a 19 year old from-no one knows where (he doesn't release that info apparently)-spends his spare time creating videos for YouTube. His videos range from being unique, thought-provoking, and hilarious, and on occasion all of the above. The avid Britney Spears fan recently made a video in which he defended her and claimed that if someone has a problem with her, they'd have to see him. Since posting the video, Crocker's video has been featured on Fox news and TMZ.com. He even scored a radio interview earlier this afternoon. I was dissapointed that so many haters called in. Why bother if you're just going to be rude. The hosts were even rude.I called in the radio and I proudly stated how much I love Chris Crocker's talent-so proud that I slipped out "Fuck the haters." Haha they pretty much were making fun of me and calling me stupid for letting that one slip on-air. What I want to know is...how they let "Nigger" and "Faggot" be aired, as they are deragotive?

UGH. I was really trying to refrain myself from writing about Britney Spears simply because almost every other website/radio/television show has covered her...yet I have my own comments to make. I'll say that I'm disappointed Britney didn't do too well. While I'm not a huge fan, especially of her erratic behavior, I think everyone should get a second chance to redeem themselves, and their careers, and I wish she had taken advantage of the evening. Anyway, more about the evening: Sarah Silverman...yech! Just no no no. I really disliked the routine. Why degrade your comedic talent and resort to referring to Britney's babies as "mistakes?" Children are the last thing one should judge when it comes to celebrities, they have no fault in their parent's actions or decisions. Justin Timberlake...I thank you for speaking your mind to MTV. PLEASE PLAY MORE VIDEOS. I liked Chris Brown's performance which had a Charlie Chaplin feel to it (I love it)...and that is pretty much all I saw. Work on making a better, less scandalous (I missed the Tommy Lee/Kid Rock fight!) awards show next year....and don't make it in Las Vegas again.

He was not kidnapped, robbed, etc. Instead, he was in jail for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence. He gave police an alias but a guard recently recognized him from a newscast. I just feel bad for everyone who was worried about him...

After losing her Emmy nomination last year to Extreme Makeover:Home Edition, Griffin has risen to the C-List with her Emmy win Saturday night at the Creative Arts Primetime Emmys. Rather than give the typical acceptance speech, crazy Kathy delivered the following: “A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus,” Griffin said, going on to hold up her Emmy and proclaim, “This award is my god now!” I love her haha. Congrats!

My sister attends Florida State University and as we were chatting online, she told me about a fellow student who went missing this past Monday.

This is the following information provided by Tallahassee.com:

"Tallahassee police are looking for Ryan Giacomin, 20, who has been missing since 10 a.m. Monday. Giacomin, a junior at Florida State University, was last seen riding a scooter near his home in the 200 block of Bamboo Drive. He is 5-foot-9, weighs 165 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information should call Tallahassee Police Department at 891-4200."

If you live in that area, please make sure to contact police immediately in case of a sighting!

Replacement

Since being fired from The Disney Channel, it is rumored that Vanessa Hudgens has been replaced by Adrienne Bailon (left), best known as one of the Cheetah Girls. Neither Bailon's or Hudgens reps have confirmed anything about a replacement. What is certain for now is that Hudgens will not appear in High School Musical 3.

High School Musical star, Vanessa Hudgens, admitted to the press that it was in fact her in the nude photograph, despite rumors of the picture being photoshopped. The public has also learned that while there was one nude photo found, several others were "suggestive" photographs. Since being leaked online to various websites, Hudgens said in a statement released Friday, “I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends.” Disney also released a statement: “Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she’s learned a valuable lesson.”

So I was checking AOL News (daily habit) and I noticed a headline that read "Paris sues over 'That's Hot' card." As I continued reading the article, I learned she made the phrase a trademark and was suing Hallmark Cards for "commercial appropriation of identity, invasion of privacy, misappropriation of publicity, false representation that Hilton endorses the product, and infringement of a federally registered trademark." I immediately got scared that my own blog would be in jeopardy if her people ever found out. SO on that note, if anyone out there EVER reaches Paris and her personnel, know that I only used her phrase because 1) I like it and 2) I believed it would be catchy for this sort of blog - which features the "hottest" news in the entertainment industry. Also, I'd like to add that I will add the Trademark sign to my banner along with Paris' name to avoid any trouble -not that this blog is read by her- but in any case, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Couple Splits

It's sad when couples, celebrity or not, with very young children split. But according to Us Weekly, Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger, parents of 23-month old Mathilda, "quietly and amicably split a few weeks ago." I hope they remain friendly, for the sake of their child.

I hate to admit, but I'm secretly happy. Now Heath is mine again =P

A Model Life: Finale

Joel Wilkenfeld, Co-President of NEXT, and host Petra Nemcova revealed the girls' future with NEXT. After learning that her pictures were sent to London and approved, Michelle was told she would be leaving for London. Beatrice "Bea," learned she would be heading for Miami where they also liked her photos but it also reminded to respect people onset foremost. Tough girl Anjelika is also told she will not be staying in New York any longer. She will be sent to native California - but without a contract. She is sent home because of her know-it-all attitude. After being dismissed, you see an emotional side to her, previously unknown about her.

Valeria, Lucia and Abigail are informed they will be flying to the Bahamas for a final photo shoot. The shoot turns out to be a little challeging for the girls. For Abigail "Abi," her poses on the rocks are a bit awkward, but then again, who ever said standing on rocks and modeling would be easy? Valeria has trouble opening her eyes enough but there are no real complaints for Lucia "Lucy," except that she needs to learn her angles better, which Joel later discusses with Petra.

Back in New York, the remaining three (right) learn they will ALL get a $100,000 contract with NEXT. Also, Joanna Coles, Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire, surprises the girls with news of their first editorial fashion spread and commends them for being good role models because they ACTUALLY eat. SWEET DEAL!

By the end of the show, through lots of crying and sadness, they say goodbye to Petra for the meantime, and to eachother before returning home to Australia, Slovakia and the U.K.

The Hills

Tonight's episode of The Hills is my favorite to date. It wasn't focused on Hollywood parties, but instead on real emotions and real life changes. As Spencer meets Heidi's family in Colorado and leaves his planned BBQ with Brody behind in LA, it's clear their friendship is hanging by a thread...like Heidi's and Lauren's before it was all over. I'm also glad Lauren finally showed a sadness for the loss of Heidi rather than just anger. It shows they shared something genuine and I'm sad they're no longer close. As for Audrina, I feel bad for her, but I think she saw it coming. Justin Bobby does not seem like one to rely on. I hope she finds a suitable guy for her.

That's my two cents.

Tonight was the second season finale of America's Got Talent. The final four included:
Antoinette "Butterscotch" Clinton, a singer/beat-boxer from Davis, Ca; Cas Haley, a singer from Arlington, TX; Julienne Irwin, a country singer from Bel Air, MD; and Terry Fator, a ventriloquist from Dallas, TX. The season finale featured special guest appearances by Sean Kingston, Taylor Swift, The Muppets, and UB40.

During the final minutes, the winner of America's Got Talent and $1,000,000 was announced as Terry Fator, the ventriloquist! Who would have thought?

Congratulations, nonetheless! =)

HSM 2 sets new records

The most beloved tv movie for kids right now is Disney's High School Musical. On August 17th, it's long-awaited sequel was released and it drew in approx. 17.2 MILLION viewers, setting a new record as the most-watched basic cable program ever. That's about 10 million more viewers than the 7.7 viewers that watched the original movie.

Also, according to PerezHilton.com HSM 2 became "the most-watched basic cable movie of all time...The highest-rated television program ever for children age 6 to 11... The most-viewed Friday television telecast, cable or broadcast, in the past five years."

Yeah. Way to go Zanessa, Ashley and others.

With such great previous success, High School Musical 3 is scheduled to be released in THEATRES this time sometime in 2008. I'll keep it updated.

Heidi Montag releases new single "Body Language"

Aspiring singer, Heidi Montag of MTV's The Hills debuted her new single on Ryan's Seacrest morning show today.

"Body Language" contains samples of Yaz's 1990 hit "Situation." With luck, it could be a hit in the clubs as the up tempo/electronica genre is a club favorite. I haven't decided whether I think it's just okay, hate it, or am totally repulsed. If it were only Heidi on the track I might say her single is O-K-A-Y but my decision is delayed due to the fact that her much-hated fiancé Spencer Pratt RAPS during the track.

The Hills Season 3. Review/Thoughts/Spoilers!

If you're a fan of The Hills, you definitely did not miss the first two episodes of season three, RIGHT?

WRONG. As much as I anticipated the season premiere, I became completely distracted in other things. MY DVR finally recorded the reruns at 1:00 and 1:30 this morning and I must say I'm kind of disappointed after watching them.

SPOILERS AHEAD (for those who missed it) :

Episdoe 1 "You know what you did" :

I'm happy to see Whitney move up in TeenVogue. Who wouldn't want to get a position and a salary after 5 years of being an intern? It's obvious working at TeenVogue isn't just some job for her, she really wants to get forward in the industry.

As for Lauren, I'm glad she is over Jason (or so it seems) but I was shocked of her obvious attraction for the Londoner at Les Deux...I understand she was drunk, but she's never really acted like that before on camera.

Another night at Les Deux for a friends birthday, a fight breaks out between LC and Heidi. Apparently, according to Lauren and others, Heidi and her vicious man Spencer began a rumor of an inappropriate home video featuring Lauren and her ex-beau Jason Wahler which eventually circulated the internet so much that it reached LC's mother and had her questioning Lauren about it. As Heidi was pressured by Spence (once again) to seek answers from Lauren ignoring her and not coming to her house warming party, Lauren lost control of emotions and publicly denounced Heidi as no longer being a part of her life and exclaiming she never wanted to speak to her again.

What I'm wondering though is...what evidence is there that Heidi had something to do with it? It's easy to accuse the slimeball Spencer but I still think Heidi has some consideration for Lauren and her privacy as a friend - if the rumor is true or not.

Episode 2 "The Proposal" :

Audrina re-introduces her ex, Justin (or Bobby, as he likes to be called...weirdo) into her life and decides to give him a second chance after abandoning her in Las Vegas two years earlier to visit a strip club with his buddies. Right off the bat, Lauren has speculations that this kid Bobby may not the best for Audrina but rather than risk losing another friend, she keeps these feelings to herself and vents to Lo. Before Audrina goes to dinner with Bobby, she tells Lauren that she has two tickets (for Lauren and her) for 40 Deuce for later that evening. One hour dinner turns into two and eventually she returns home with Bobby where he meets Lo and sees Lauren. Audrina informs Lauren she is going to 40 Deuce with Bobby. Without even asking first, she gave away Laurens ticket just like that. It's obvious through Laurens facial expressions that she's a bit stunned, but once again, says nothing.

That is essentially Lauren's worst flaw. On the show, she seems like a very caring friend but she tends to let people walk all over her. Though she's improving on when and how to properly react, in this episode she could be making a big mistake by not saying anything to Audrina. It may not be a big deal but it's how Heidi started with Spencer...suddenly choosing a boy over her friend.

NOW FOR THE JUICE. CAUTION: BIG SPOILER

I couldn't believe Spence proposed to Heidi. Sure, I'd read about their engagement in magazines, but I never imagined it would happen in the first episode! I really hope maybe it means they...eventually...break up? Maybe that's just wishful thinking. Really, without the cameras and fame, I highly doubt Spencer would be with her. I really liked Heidi before Spencer came along. I think Lauren and her shared good times, and it seemed like she took care of her friends in tough times, like when Jason prompted an argument with Lauren that one New Years Eve...

Surely there is tons more drama on the way. Stay tuned. I'll definitely try not to miss it =)

Artists On The Rise

I've been an avid underground music fan for quite some time now. But with each sweet discovery of mine, in a matter of months/sometimes a year or two, artists and bands that have long existed even before I became interested, are becoming increasingly mainstream. While I'm glad they are receiving the much deserved recognition, I find myself becoming jealous that they are no longer precious secrets I turn to when the mainstream music world isn't working for me. Here are a few artists I've harbored to myself that are gaining serious play time on TV/Radio:

Feist - The native Canadian Leslie Feist can make you sob like a two year old with "Let it die" or make you happy-go-lucky in "Mushaboom" Her latest single "1234" can be heard on VH1's You Oughta Know segments.

Sia - This kukoo Australia native can be a slew of genres and still keep her fans hanging on. In her slow jam "Breathe Me" she tells a story of a lost soul while in "Pictures," she keeps a giddy beat to a sad love tune. Her latest song "Buttons" was featured on PerezHilton.com and garnered several new fans, increasing her popularity overall.

A Fine Frenzy - Frighteningly beautiful Seattle native 22 year old Alison Sudol creates "hypnotic piano arrangements under classic American melody fused into irresistible, atmospheric songs". "Almost Lover" (a favorite of mine) has also been featured on VH1 You Oughta Know segments.

Zooey Deschanel in Jane Magazine

So a co-worker of my moms knows I indulge in magazines so every month, when she receives an issue from one of her subscriptions that she's not into, she passes them on to me. Sure, I sometimes get them a month late, but I'm not complaining about a kind hand-me-down. Anyway, I've probably only read two issues of Jane Magazine in my entire life, but this new one she handed down caught my eye. Zooey Deschanel, who graced the June/July cover, opened up in the article about her fetish to buy and attempt to fit into little girls clothing and describes this as her "party trick." However, for the photo shoot, she was not wearing such clothing. In fact, her wardrobe for the shoot is what this blog is about. Here are a few pics from the magazine:

Earlier this year, People magazine rated Sienna Miller's braided 'do, better known as the 'Heidi Plait', for the Golden Globes as one of the worst hairstyles of the evening. Nicole Richie is going to JAIL!

Ok, so it's only four days, but she is still going and being fined for $2,048 after pleading guilty Friday afternoon. Her sentence is the result of driving under the influence of marijuana and pain medication Vicodin causing her to drive in the opposite direction on a Burbank freeway December 11, 2006. The pregnant socialite was also ordered to enter a drug and alcohol program which must be completed by February 20, 2008, her return date to court and must serve her sentence by September 28, 2007.

More trouble for Ms. Lohan. Two weeks out of rehab, and having recently turned herself into Beverly Hills Police, she was arrested early Tuesday at around 1:30 am with a blood alcohol level between .12 and .13 percent (wasn't her ankle bracelet supposed to 'detect' that earlier?) Officials arrested her for suspicion of drunken driving, transporting narcotics, driving with a suspended license and alleged cocaine possession (so the rumors are true). Like most celebrities, Lohan was released on $25,000 bail.

Sidenote: People can talk as much trash about her as they want...but I, in a weird way, feel bad for her. I don't think she should be let free of her crimes, but I feel bad that she doesn't realize how fortunate she is to have the wealth and success she has, to have fans who look up to her (and all she does is set a bad example) and for having parents who can't help her lost soul. I hope one day I can resume being a fan when she straightens out her head.

Goodbye Bob Barker...Hello Drew Carey ??

Television's most beloved game show host, Bob Barker, retired earlier this year in June after more than 35 years on The Price Is Right and 50 years in show biz. After announcing his retirement in October 2006, buzz began circulating who would be his replacement for the popular game show. The 6, 586th and last episode of Price was taped on June 6th and aired on June 15, 2007. Since, Barker's host position has been handed down to - no, not Rosie O'Donnell (thank heavens) - funny man Drew Carey! Carey confirmed his position on a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman. I personally don't think it's a bad choice. While he's not the same as Barker, Carey has experience with audiences as a comic foremost, with Whose Line Is It Anyway, The Drew Carey Show and as the host of a new prime-time CBS game show, The Power of 10. Carey says he recognizes the responsibility in taking up the offer and hopes to maintain the show as what it is known for - the longest running game show on television.

LaLohan turns herself in

As reported by The Insider, Lindsay Lohan, who checked out of rehab last week, turned herself in to the Beverly Hills Police Department Thursday for driving under the influence and committing a hit and run during the Memorial Day weekend earlier this year. Even now as she is legally able to drink, she is voluntarily sporting an alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet. Her court date is currently set for August 24. Lindsay's new movie I Know Who Killed Me will debut Friday July 27.

"Hairspray" - Must See Movie

"Hairspray" debuted in movie theaters nationwide yesterday. Rarely do I see movies on release dates since I loathe cinemas being packed to the hilt with noisy crowds of people. But I had nothing better to do on a Friday night, so I tagged along with my parents to a 10 o'clock showing. From the first song, to the very last, I never stopped laughing. The audience loved it (except for my parents who needed constant nudging on my part to stay awake...10 is late for them ya know) and at least every 10-20 minutes, everyone was genuinely laughing out loud.

"Hairspray," based on John Waters' Broadway production and a remake of the 1998 movie musical, is already garnering great reviews from critics. They claim that director Adam Shankman retains Waters' theme of feeling like an outcast and overcoming that feeling. The film's story of embracement and tolerance provides "a beautiful message wrapped in crazy paper" Shankman says. Not only does it stick to the original, intended theme, it lures in the audience and makes every second count.

Now Available: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

It's here y'all. The long-awaited final book of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is in stores NOW as of 12:01 July 21. An estimated 72.1 million copies were bought in the first 24 hours worldwide. My neighbor invited me to the midnight release party at our local bookstore but I bailed. I went last year but I have a feeling this year might have been a bit more exciting. I admit I never even finished the first book (oops) but I do enjoy the movies and the plot/imagination behind it all. Though, I ruined it for myself...I read a few spoilers, but you needn't worry.I will not spill any beans to devoted fans =)
